News sources and worries and whatnot

I don't really have a main place where I get my news, I just absorb it from the various people and online places I frequent. Occasionally I listen to the news when I'm getting ready in the morning or I stumble on some big news while sifting through the trash heap that is Twitter. Usually I see a post about how X is affecting Y and do research on the news it's referencing, if I care enough to check, that is. So in summary, Twitter, News, and Googling are my 3 main ways I get news. Regardless of where or how I get my news, I always make sure to get multiple fairly reputable takes and sources, and always ask people to take my information with a grain of salt.

I'm incredibly concerned about the state of news online, with AI getting better at making people do things that they didn't do. There's a good chance that 90% of the people online will intake at least some false information about a current or previous event, and over time that will shift the public into believing something that's either wrong or harmful. I'm especially worried with how this will impact the elderly, given they're already pretty tech illiterate.
